So You Want Some Romance

By Jillian

SO you want some romance in your life. Remember when you first started dating and your partner brought you flowers, noticed how nice you looked and opened every door for you? And now...it's a wonder you get a word or two out of him in the evening while a sports game is on.

Well ladies we don't have to put up with this crap. Let's have a romantic brain storming session. When did the romance in our relationships fly out the window and what can we do to restore a little bit of romance into our relationship.

Flowers and compliments are really not what we are after, although they are a lovely treat. What we really want is to feel that our partner appreciates us. Tell us we look pretty after we spent time prepping for a special evening. Kiss us hello and goodbye and for pete's sake, say the "L" word...as in "I Love You". How tough is it guys?

Remember that old favorite Beatles song, "Love, Love, Love, Love Is All You Need". Well, come on girls, we do need love and we don't feel warm and squishy when our man walks in the door anymore. What do we have to do? Get dressed up in clear plastic wrap or become FiFi the French Maid? I don't think it should take that much effort to get a romantic minute when my man comes home from work.

It's not like we are asking for the moon and stars. The first step in any change is to "be the change you want to see in the world"...thanks Ghandi for that wonderful and brutally honest quote. If you want more romance in your life, be more romantic. Be open and honest and loveable. Tell your partner what you are hoping for. Put your cards on the table of love so to speak. If you don't get some kind of response from Mr. Man after this, I don't know what will get his attention. I really hope you don't have to wait until his favorite sports season is over...that could be a real problem.

But let's deal with first things first before we get way ahead of ourselves.
