This is a common concern in our society for single people of any age; how to make contact with someone that we like on a soft matter without being forward. The truth of the matter is that we have the opportunity to meet that special person everyday; at the bus station, at the grocery store, at church, at a class, at the gym, at the coffe shop, at the library.

Instead, it is our past that is in control. Unfortunately, many people are not aware that this is what is going on. They know the past is affecting them, but they are not aware to what degree or how it is changing them as a person and their outlook on life.

Choosing your peer, your “equal”, your compatible partner in life is perhaps one of the biggest and most important decisions you’ll ever make. The right choice brings a lifetime of incredible joy, love, sharing and support. Many of us know what it feels like to trust someone only
to find out later; they simply weren't to be trusted.

At times there are telltale signs that the person you are involved

I love those half truths; is it a lie or is it the truth? Oh, it's both!

Or perhaps they're sneaky and secretive. You may feel like you
are always trying to get the 'real' truth out of them. You may have
a gnawing feeling that things just don't seem to be right.

Our life, relationships, and our planet would work so much better if all choices were conscious.

What does it mean to be ‘Conscious?’

To illustrate, consider these three levels of consciousness:

1. Unconscious (awake but unaware)

This is when you forget where you put your keys, leave the headlights on and are surprised by a dead battery, drive past your freeway exit, etc. You’re simply not paying attention.

If life is like an iceberg, when we’re unconscious we crash and sink before we see it.

In my opinion, that is a KEY component to ending up in a relationship that will last a lifetime. Sure, plenty of women settle and end up married. But need I remind you of the divorce rate? (Most reports have it holding steady at 50% for first marriages, higher for second marriages!) And that’s just what we see in the courts. Studies have shown that of the remaining 40 (+/-) %, only 10% of those people would call themselves happy! Yikes...those are disturbing statistics.

45 year old Judy revealed in an anger management class that she was constantly angry at her husband. When asked why, she revealed that her aged mother lives next door and she always felt conflicted whether to spend time with her husband or her mother after work.
